Remote Messaging

Found on the Settings page in RainedOut.

Remote Messaging allows you to initiate RainedOut alerts via SMS text message. Simply add the 10-digit phone number of your cell phone (or whomever you'd like to be allowed to send alerts this way.)

Note: Use of this feature requires a text messaging plan for your cell phone. (If you can subscribe via Mobile Opt-In, you should be able to use this feature.)

Remote Messaging allows you to configure phone numbers that are permitted to initiate RainedOut via text message.

To set up Remote Messaging, click Add and then enter the phone number and a description for the number.

Once these are entered and saved, this number will be able to issue alerts by texting RainedOut with the command "send" and your keyword for the system or group. Only the phone numbers listed will be permitted to issue alerts to your RainedOut via Remote Messaging (sms). These numbers will be allowed to send to any/all keywords in your system.

Sending RainedOut Alerts via SMS (Remote Messaging)

When sending alerts via SMS, the command just text 84483 with "send <keyword> <message>". Keep in mind that this feature is linked to your phone number. (For security concerns, you can't just use any phone to initiate alerts via SMS!)
