Creating a Group

Creating a group is easy. Visit the Groups page in RainedOut and fill out the form.
 

When creating a group, be sure to set a unique "keyword". Users will be able to sign up for the group from their mobile phone by texting 84483 with this keyword.

The fields shown on this form are as follows:

Group Name: The name of the group. This is visible on the "Send Message" and is what subscribers will see if/when they subscriber via your "My RainedOut" page online.
 

Description: A brief text description for the group.
 

Keyword: The keyword is used by subscribers to join the group (and your RainedOut service) via text message. They simply need to text 84483 with your keyword and they will be registered and assigned to this group. A "group keyword" can be used on it's own to register directly for the group.
 

Group Type: Groups can be public or private.
 
Public Groups: Public groups are visible to subscribers on the "My RainedOut" pages.
 
Private Groups: Private groups are not displayed to subscribers on the "My RainedOut" pages. The only way to join a private group is by texting 84483 with the group's keyword. These are designed to be "secret" groups used to communicate with coaches, officials, or other special messaging groups of your choice.

Users may also sign up for Private Groups using your keyword online. After subscribing for RainedOut, they will see a screen to select their groups and have the option to enter a keyword for any private groups you may have.
